I am an aspiring international journalist and senior at the University of Oklahoma. When I’m in class, I’m studying international affairs or philosophy. When I’m not in class, I’m in the newsroom of The Oklahoma Daily, the university’s daily broadsheet student newspaper.

I’m the editor-in-chief of the Daily, where I’ve worked for six semesters. I worked as a general assignment reporter, a student government beat reporter, assistant managing editor and online assistant.

My interests encompass both journalism and international political issues. During the semester that I did not work for the Daily, I worked as an intern at OU’s International Programs Center, doing publicity for the center and working to organize internationally-themed events and host foreign visitors.

During the summer of 2007, I worked as a State Department intern in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The previous summer, I worked at a day camp in Lusaka, Zambia.

In 2009, I jumped into magazine journalism with an internship at American Way, the in-flight magazine of American Airlines in Dallas. I edited copy, checked facts and pitched story ideas. I wrote three pieces, including a full-length travel story.
